Update On Construction

Okay as you may have seen, we were supposed to do it on Monday BUT there was leadership lesson so we are doing it tommorow, Thursday. View the second video on our blog to get a clear view of what we will be doing.

Reflection

On Tuesday, 31/03/09, to Thursday, 02/04/09, we had our Secondary 2 Adventurous camp. Before that, we had already planned to do our project on thursday, not knowing that there was a camp. Thursday, all of us were too tired to even walk. We have discussed to meet on Monday at Toa Payoh Interchange.

Work Distribution:
Jia Hui -> Printing the Questions for the board game and printing the layout for the board game.
Chen Xi -> Bringing the card board and providing the venue to spray paint the board game.
Chen Yi-Jia -> Spray paints
Chen Siyu -> Nothing. He is absent for today's IPW and all throughout the Grace Project.

Holiday Meet-up.

On 19/02/09, around noon, we met in Mac Donalds at Toa Payoh Entertainment Center and then proceeded to Chen Xi's house to do the project. We manage to get the main design for the board game done and only have a few more points to touch up upon. We will complete it before next week.

*Note: We haven't paint it yet, we only made a rough sketch and cut the cardboard paper into a 3D pyramid and another amazon board game. Telling the players about the different nature in Earth.

Reflection

We decided to rush our work and bring it to school and complete it. We will also make a banner and change the blogskin to something related to our work. We also shared our work with the other team and had a great time. Chen Si Yu returned back to Singapore and discussed about what he should do. He agreed to it. The other team had a great presentation about road accident using keynote, we would also use keynote to make our final presentation too :)

Reflection Week 10 Aron

Today, we decided to carry on our Grace Project in Chen Xi's house (construction of the 3D game) and Macdonald for a brainstorm.

Aron is gong to bring the DIY items

*Chen Si Yu is in China and only will return to Singapore after the March Holiday.*

We will meet in Toa Payoh Entertainment Center (Macdonald for the brainstorm first).

We will split the amount of our total expenditure equally.

Today, we did not do much in this session. We just managed to brainstorm and finish our project planner which was overdue.

Today, our group continued to discuss on how to improve our board game. A lot of discussion were made. However, at the end of the lesson, we found ourself still stuck at the same old point.

Today, the discussion really push us to have deep in thinking for creative and out of box ideas to present our final product. With the help of Mr. Garnesh, we stayed focus on what we want for our project without drifting away from the subject matter. He facilitated the group to workout our 3-D model and the materials needed. Every member of the group is to make purchase of the materials assigned to them.

Reflection 5 (Aron)

Today, my team and Mr Ganesh have decided to change our plans to make a 3D pyramid and Amazon  Board Game than the Global Warming Board Game. We are going to use cardboard and golden paper to make the pyramid and for the Amazon, we are going to use spray paint for the forest and amazon basin, making it more realistic from the bird eyes' view. Checkers: We are going to replace the normal checkers you find in 'Popular' to small animal toys. Different animal toys have different questions. Allowing players to have a deeper understanding towards animals.

Reflection 4 Cheung Jia Hui (4) 2I

Today we discussed how to design the board game on global warming. We had a lot of discussion but could not decide which idea wass the best. Luckily, Mr Garnesh came and gave us suggestions on what to do. He suggested we could design a board game 3-D board game which he had not seen on the market before to make it more unique. I think that it is a good suggestion but the team has not decided whether to adopt it and how to go around making it. I think Mr Ganesh's suggestion is very helpful but I think it will be hard to complete.

Refection 3 Cheung Jia Hui (4) 2I

Continuing from the previous lesson, we continued to brainstorm about what topic to work on. After much discussion, all four of us decided to use the theme Global Warming. We then decided to do a board game with its theme, Global Warming. Today, we have finalised the topic to work on and we can start work soon. I am happy we have finally got somewhere.

Reflection for Lesson 2 Cheung Jia Hui (4) 2I

During the brainstorming session, our group debated fiercely in coming up with ideas for the project. Finally, a idea was suggested by my group member, Chen Siyu. But we did not think it was feasible. After some time, we found our discussion was out of topic. By the time the period ended, we still could not come out with any other better idea. I hope the next lesson will reap good results

Continue from the previous lesson, we continued to brainstorm about what topic to work on. After much discussion, all four of us decided to do global warming. We decided to do a board game about global warming. Today, we have finalised the topic to work on and I am quite satisfied with it.

During the brainstorming session, our group faced difficulty in coming up with ideas for the project. Finally, a few ideas were suggested but some members were against it. After some time, we found our discussion was out of topic. By the time the period ended, we still could not come out with any idea. Although we wasted one lesson, I get to know my team members better.

Reflection 1 Chen Xi (2) 2I

After attending the lesson, i think that this subject is rather challenging. Unlike the projects in my primary school, most of the time the teacher will spoon-feed us by giving us all the resources and information to complete the project. However, IPW wanted us to decide the topic we want to work on and research the information ourselves. We then have to present the findings at the final two periods of IPW. I like this lesson because it teaches to be independent and there is no exmanation.

Cheung Jia Hui- Lesson 1 Reflections

On the first lesson, my IPW teacher, Mr Ganesh told us what was IPW. We then came up with a group name and completed the worksheets. I feel that the time given for IPW, 1 lesson is too little time to do anything concrete. Most of it is rushing to complete stuff. I hope IPW lessons can be increased in frequency and number of periods
